100 greys were homed in 2010 with the best month being August with 13 greys finding loving homes. This makes an overall total of 241 since the branch formed in May 2008.
We held some great events in 2010 and the sun even shone at some of them. (a review of some below). Introduced in April was the “Playgroup” which has proved to be a great success and is now held every six weeks or so (the next being held on Saturday 29th January).
We are now holding our own annual show, in 2010 it was held at Walton Hall Gardens Nr. Warrington, at which we had a “fun” dog show and invited other animal charities to attend, hopefully this event will grow year by year.
Belle Vue Greyhound Stadium kindly invited us to hold our own benefit nights (April & October) with all monies raised going direct to the branch, and some ex Belle Vue racers homed by the branch were invited to parade.
In March we held our annual sponsored walk at Sefton Park. Liverpool. All the greys that attended drew plenty of interest and six greys from the kennels enjoyed their day out…3 of which subsequently found new homes.
Thanks to everyone who give up their time to make the branch a success, and those who have given a grey a loving home. Long may it continue in 2011.
